Hip-Hop legend Scarface finally made his way to NPR's Tiny Desk, and boy, what a joyous time it was.
The performance honestly was long overdue — Face's decades-long career is virtually unrivaled and chock-full of classic Hip-Hop albums — from "Mr. Scarface Is Back," to "The Diary," "The Untouchable," and "The Fix" — and that's not even mentioning his group work with Geto Boys, Facemob, and The Product. Adding to his legacy as a production talent and musician skilled at the guitar, Tiny Desk was the perfect place for him to showcase why he's one of the greatest of all time.
Joining Face at his Tiny Desk performance was his longtime collaborator, Mike Dean, who had been there for most of Face and Geto Boys' early classic production alongside N.O. Joe and Mr. Lee. While Face grabbed the guitar for the performance, Mike handled the keys, and along with an incredible backing band, The Backyard Band and amazing vocalists, they floated through some of his classics including "On My Block," "Mary Jane," "Smile," "I Seen A Man Die," "Fuck Faces," and "Mind Playing Tricks on Me."
