In February, Ice-T received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and his Wolf along with his longtime co-star Mariska Hargitay (who plays Olivia Benson) delivered speeches for the ceremony.
"He is universally liked by his compatriots," Wolf said, adding that he hopes to work with him for another 25 years. SVU co-star Mariska Hargitay also spoke and expressed the same sentiment.
"It is so profoundly right that your name is now here commemorated forever in this place because there's something else that I hold sacred, and that is friendship," she said, after saying the Walk of Fame is especially special because her star is next to her mother's, actress Jayne Mansfield. "Your achievements and your artistry and your whole story runs so deep. At a time when people overuse words without thinking, you are indeed the real OG. To me, Ice, the reason you're here in my heart is because you are the OG of friendship. You are the real deal — my true blue, authentic, unshakeable friend, and I can't tell you what that means to me. You have been such a joy. You're the embodiment of loyalty. You tell the truth, you keep it real. We laugh every day, you grieve with me in times of sorrow, and you keep things in perspective. You've never failed me once. In 22 years, I've never heard Ice complain."
Ice-T also recently launched a new iHeartPodcast, Ice-T’s Daily Game, and announced he has a new album due out this summer, The Legend of ICE-T “Crime Stories” Vol 1 & 2. He says the project will be focused on highlighting his storytelling rhymes.
"You know, they say Slick Rick is the king of stories — I’m coming for that throne," he told AllHipHop. "Wait till you hear this. These are all my story records from ‘6 ’N the Mornin’’ to ‘Midnight’ and all these adventures put into one album. It’s a double vinyl release, it has two vinyls and it’s gonna be like a classic collector’s piece. The reason it’s titled The Legend of ICE-T is because a lot of things people believe about me are legend.”
