J. Cole's Dreamville Records is executive producing the latest installment of Michael B. Jordan's Creed franchise, Creed III, and they've just dropped the soundtrack's lead single from J.I.D. and Lute, "Ma Boy."
Over heavy drums and a haunting chorus, J.I.D. showcases why he's Dreamville's star with an impressive delivery. Though they released the song, the label has yet to share the tracklisting for the soundtrack, which is due out on March 3. Cole previously announced Dreamville was producing the film's soundtrack during a panel at ComplexCon 2022 in Long Beach, CA. Dreamville has been busy lately, with the release of a number of acclaimed projects including J.I.D (The Forever Story), Ari Lennox (Age/Sex/Location), EarthGang's (Ghetto Gods), and D-Day: A Gangsta Grillz Mixtape hosted by DJ Drama, which all dropped in 2022.
As for Creed III, it stars Jordan as Donnie Creed facing off against an old friend turned rival, Dame, played by Jonathan Majors. The third installment of the popular franchise is directed by Jordan and will see the return of several stars including Tessa Thompson as Bianca Taylor and Phylicia Rashad as Mary Anne Creed. Wood Harris will also reprise his role as Tony "Little Duke" Evers, and Florian Munteanu will return as Viktor Drago.
Creed III hits theaters on March 3. Listen to "Ma Boy" below.
