Russel Hobbs of The Gorillaz talked with HipHopDX recently about the group's new single "New Gold" featuring Bootie Brown of The Pharcyde and Tame Impala. The single dropped Wednesday (8/31) and is from their full-length album Cracker Island which is scheduled for release next February. The song "Cracker Island" dropped earlier this summer and features Thundercat.

According to a press release, Stevie Nicks of Fleetwood Mac , Bad Bunny and Beck will appear on the upcoming 10-song album. The project which was recorded in London and Los Angeles earlier this year is produced by 8-time Grammy Award-winning producer Greg Kurstin. Gorillaz and Remi Kabaka Jr. Hobbs said of their collaboration with Bootie Brown, "He's a spiritual soldier, beaming in from the Pharcyde as he does. He's a psycho-funkadelic space pilot thats been in our orbit for years and he's always ready with that sonic icing. He makes a good cake."
