Young MC married his longtime girlfriend, Chantal on Sunday (3/24) in a ceremony officiated by Def Jam Recordings artist Montell Jordan. According to AllHipHop, the ceremony took place in Phoenix, Arizona and was attended by Young's label mate Tone Loc, Freedom Williams of C+C Music Factory, as well as family and friends.
"People should see your marriage and know that God is real, and that’s why we’re here today,” said Jordan, who operates Master Peace Church in Georgia with his wife Kristen. Jordan delivered a non-traditional call for objections: “Please feel free to leave now, "he joked. “This is how we do it.”
Young MC is best known for his 1989 hit "Bust A Move", from his debut album Stone Cold Rhymin'. "Bust a Move" reached number seven on the US Billboard Hot 100 and stayed for 39 weeks, and 20 weeks in the top 40. "Bust A Move" also won the 1990 Grammy Award for Best Rap Performance.
