A growing number of Hip-Hop artists have publicly supported the writers strike, including Flavor Flav and Lil Wayne. Wayne sent a Fatburger food truck to folks on the picket line outside of Warner Bros. in Burbank on Thursday (May 25), while Flav delivered pizza to the tune of Public Enemy's "Fight the Power" in May.
Previously, Snoop has been public about his support of the writers as well. While at the Milken Institutes’ Global Conference in May, he suggested musicians should take a page from writers' playbook, particularly as it pertains to demanding revenue from streaming.
“[Artists] need to figure it out the same way the writers are figuring it out,” he said per Variety. "The writers are striking because [of] streaming, they can’t get paid. Because when it’s on the platform, it’s not like in the box office.”
