The Roots Picnic is headed to L.A.
Since its inception in 2008, the festival has been held in The Roots' hometown, Philadelphia but now, it's expanding to the west coast. Roots Picnic: Hip-Hop Is The Love Of My Life will take place on Saturday, June 29, and will feature Arrested Development, Black Sheep, Common, Digable Planets, The Pharcyde, Queen Latifah, and more.
“The first time we played Hollywood Bowl was way back in 2011, and there was nothing like it,” Questlove said per Variety. “We came back to headline in 2019, and we’ve been talking about doing something there since. This idea for Hip-Hop is the Love of My Life came up, and we knew there was no better spot.”
Tickets for the event go on sale Thursday, December 14, at 10 AM PT at hollywoodbowl.com.
