The Grammys will pay tribute to Hip-Hop's 50th anniversary with a star-studded concert, A Grammy Salute to 50 Years of Hip Hop, featuring some of the biggest names in the genre.
LL COOL J, Will Smith, DJ Jazzy Jeff, Queen Latifah, Questlove, Black Thought, Bun B, Common, De La Soul, Jermaine Dupri, J.J. Fad, Talib Kweli, The Lady Of Rage, MC Sha-Rock, Monie Love, The Pharcyde, Rakim, Remy Ma, Uncle Luke, Yo-Yo, a host of other Hip-Hop legends will all hit the stage for the historic, once-in-a-lifetime performance. The concert follows the huge success of the extended “50 Years of 50-Hop” segment from the 65th annual Grammy Awards which aired back in February.
Questlove and LL COOL J, who also embarked on LL's The F.O.R.C.E. Tour earlier this fall, serve as executive producers of the special, which taped Nov. 8 at the YouTube Theater in Inglewood, Calif. A Grammy Salute to 50 Years of Hip Hop is produced by Jesse Collins Entertainment. Collins, Shawn Gee, Dionne Harmon, Claudine Joseph, Fatima Robinson and Jeannae Rouzan-Clay also serve as executive producers. Marcelo Gama serves as director.
