Pharoahe Monch and Talib Kweli were recently guests on episode three of De La Soul's AOI Radio podcast. On the episode titled "Supa MC's", both guests discussed the impact of De La on their careers. Concerning their time together on the Spitkicker Tour, Monch expressed what he learned from the legendary trio. "The tutelage, the showmanship, and professionalism of that tour, and being able to get up in front of audiences and see how songs worked out allowed me to [ adjust my own live show]," he explained.
Talib Kweli shared the wisdom that he gained from being in the presence of De La. "I know that there are struggles, valleys, and peaks but you guys were autonomous," Talib recalled. "Even though you had platinum success, you were on the indie scene. You were in the trenches with us, but you weren't splittin' hoagies and hoppin' trains. If I could be like De La and be comfortable doing what I love, that's success."
