De La Soul cooked up a live performance of their 1989 hit "Eye Know" last night (3/7) on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. Posdnous, Maseo, and their producer Prince Paul appeared dressed in aprons, standing in front of steaming pots to deliver the fan favorite.

Always thinking outside of the box, the trio treated the performance like a cooking class adding whistles to the pot to represent Otis Redding's "Dock of The Bay" sample, beets for the songs drums, pegs that represent the main loop, and "Donald Fagen" to represent the Steely Dan vocal that constitutes the song's hook.

In other De La Soul news, the group is celebrating the 35th anniversary of their debut album, 3 Feet High And Rising with a digital release, available across all platforms. The commemorative release includes original tracks as well as a selection of bonus tracks.

Among the bonus tracks are the previously digitally unreleased "Freedom Of Speak (We Got Three Minutes),” with a lyric video, as well as "Ain’t Hip to be Labelled a Hippie," "What's More," "Jenifa Taught Me (12” Version)," and two original demos from DJ Maseo’s basement "Plug Tunin’" (Home Demo) and "Freedom Of Speak (We Got Three Minutes)" (Home Demo). All tracks have been remastered in stereo and Atmos and come one year after the release of the band’s six back catalog albums on all streaming services.
