Seminal producer, artist, and seven-time Grammy Award winner Mike Dean has released a new album, the fifth installment of his annual 4:20 series, titled 4:24. 4:24 is described as "A masterclass in compositional arrangements, synth, and guitar playing." The songs are textured and psychedelic, filled with surprising sonic twists that rarely keep the listener in one place for long.

Accompanying the album is a psychedelic short film created by director Jason Goldwatch, renowned for his work with Kid Cudi, Pharrel, Travis Barker, Nas, The Alchemist, etc. The video highlights the human experience through the eyes of a robot, via layered imagery custom made for the mostly analog tracks. The abstract storyline alongside the compositions creates a dreamy electronic soundscape of mechanized consciousness questioning time and space alongside flesh and death.

Dean's career began in the early 1990's with fellow Texans Scarface, UGK, and Devin the Dude. Since then, Mike Dean has evolved to blend Hip-Hop, pop, experimental rock, and soul into a potent concoction that’s both malleable and uniquely his own.

Dean played a crucial role in the realization of pivotal albums such as Kanye West’s My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy and Watch the Throne, Frank Ocean’s Blonde, Beyoncé’s Lemonade, and Travis Scott’s Astroworld. 2023 saw him touring with The Weeknd opening much of the global sold-out After Hours Till Dawn stadium as well as scoring the entirety of HBO's “The Idol” alongside Abel Tesfaye and Director Sam Levinson, and stars as himself in the series.
