Avid sports fan, Lil Wayne is now a playable character on NB2K3. He's available to play in MyTeam mode, and get this — he has an 89 rating. 2K Sports and Wayne made the announcement yesterday (Feb. 16).

Wayne's music has been featured on NBA 2K soundtracks over the years, dating back to 2005, and now his playable character can be unlocked by completing a Spotlight Challenge.

Folks were quick to point out that Wayne's 89 rating was even better than MVP Russell Westbrook's, whose rating is 81.

Adding to Wayne's list of victories, his 2008 hit "Lollipop" hit a big milestone late last year — it's been certified diamond by the RIAA. The song was featured on Tha Carter III, which sold one million copies in its first week. In a video thanking fans for the support, Wayne noted that his diamond status came via actual sales, not streams.
