On the latest episode of Kid N Play's Fun House podcast, the duo revealed that they had several opportunities to work in Hollywood. In addition to their Marvel comic book and NBC Saturday morning cartoon, Kid 'N Play had several sitcom offers, mainly due to their relationship with Quincy Jones.
"After the successful launch of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Quincy Jones (the shows producer) sought after us," Play said. "We met him and ended up having a great relationship and friendship with him, and he wanted to know what we wanted to do. He had an idea for a sitcom where we were roommates with a third person, which was going to be an elderly white man. The person that he had in mind was Don Rickles." Play says further that they turned down the opportunity because they didn't see the chemistry.
