Kanye West: "My Publishing Is Being Put Up for Sale Without My Knowledge"

Kanye West went on Instagram Story and said his publishing is being put up for sale without his knowledge. As previously reported, Billboard published a report on Sept. 19 that said members of Ye's team “have met selectively with prospective buyers to explore what kind of valuation his song catalog could fetch" with estimations that he would be seeking a valuation of 35 times the gross profit, which would offer him a $175 million payday.

However, Ye disputed the report on IG Story. “Just like Taylor Swift… my publishing is being put up for my sale without my knowledge. Not for sale," he said.

He followed up the story with a screenshot of a text that possibly referenced his longtime manager Gee Roberson. “Can you ask Gee who is selling my publishing,” the text read.

Two years ago, Taylor Swift lost the right to purchase ownership of her masters from Big Machine Records, prompting Ye's reference. Since then, Swift has re-recorded and re-released her first six records, including Red (Taylor’s Version), to regain ownership.
