On Tracklib, a series that focuses on sampling, and deconstructing how they're used, J Dilla's much-acclaimed sampling technique is examined.

Specifically, his acclaimed eighth note technique is dissected, which was used for his classic, "Don't Cry" from his acclaimed work, Donuts.

"While others would sample cool parts they liked, Dilla would manipulate his samples to do what he wanted," the video emphasizes. You can watch an analysis of Dilla's technique on the song at the 4:12 mark below.

Dilla's incredible musical skills will be showcased on the big screen as well. Late last year it was announced that Questlove is working on a documentary focusing on the late legend. Specifically, the film will focus on “the brief life and pervasive and largely uncredited influence of music producer, J Dilla.”

Questlove will work with Summer of Soul producer Joseph Patel on the doc, who will produce and co-direct with Darby Wheeler. The documentary will be based on journalist Dan Charnas' book Dilla Time: The Life and Afterlife of J Dilla, The Hip-Hop Producer Who Reinvented Rhythm, which chronicles the prolific producer's life and unique production style that change rap forever.
