DJ Premier shouts out his Texas roots in the intro to the latest episode of So Wassup, which dissects fellow Houston native Bun B.'s "Let 'Em Know". "This one is so special, on so may levels," Preemo says before shouting out Port Arthur, Texas and shouting out Bun, and giving Pimp C an R.I.P.

Premier explains that Bun b called him with the idea to do a tribute song for fallen soldiers Guru and Pimp C on his 2010 album,Trill OG. "I'm already floored because that's my honor and privilege to be part of any of that," Premier says. " So many reasons - Texas roots, them being icons, and Pimp had his own thing."

Premier also revealed that although the slowed chopped and screwed tempo is a Texas staple, he wanted to speed the beat up a bit. "I put a jump on the sample because I knew that Bun was gonna melt the pen," he said.
