Earlier this summer, one-on-one breaking competition, Red Bull BC One, revealed the U.S. line-up for its regional qualifiers and the return of the Red Bull BC One All Star Tour, and now it's officially been announced that Rakaa of acclaimed Cali rap group, Dilated Peoples will serve as host for its upcoming U.S. national final, to be held in L.A. this September.

The regional cyphers featured 16 b-boys and b-girls competing in a 1-on-1 battle with a knockout bracket format. Established breakers from each region served as judges to determine who made it to the Red Bull BC One National Final. This year, the program expanded to include pre-qualifying city cyphers, which gave breakers of all levels an opportunity to compete, connect, and hone their skills.

In addition to winners from regional cyphers in Philadelphia, Austin, Orlando, Boston, and Seattle, there will also be a roster of wild-card invitees of the nation's best breakers.

“As a breaker with a year and a half of experience, it was surreal to win a Red Bull cypher and it allowed me to recognize my potential and skills," Las Vegas-based emerging b-girl, Jeyna Ponce said in a previous statement about the event, where she claimed runner up in the San Diego competition. She also won the city cypher in her hometown. "Both events introduced me to a supportive community that has helped me grow my knowledge and expertise. I look forward to showcasing my love for this dance while representing my crew Battle Born, my city Las Vegas, and the females of breaking.”

Following the U.S. Finals, the World Final will be held in New York on Nov. 11, with one b-girl and one b-boy representing the USA.
