Cam'ron and Mase linked to perform their hit Trackmasters'-produced song, "Horse and Carriage" for the first time ever at the Apollo Theater in Harlem, nearly 25 years after its release in 1998.
The historic performance happened during Mase, Cam'ron, and Jadakiss' one-night-only show on Jan. 28, and was especially significant since Cam and Mase squashed their longtime beef last year. Cam'ron admitted he needed the crowd's help since it'd been so long since he performed the track.
“Imma keep it a hundred: I ain’t do this song in so long,” Cam said. “So Imma just act like y’all know it and do a little bit of this [dance].” To which Ma$e added, “Yo, we never got to perform this song. We never got to perform this.”
Jadakiss was particularly excited about the performance, hyping the crowd up as DJ SNS dropped the song but warned fans not to get too close to the balcony and "fall over" as one fan did during Drake's recent Apollo performance.
“Listen Harlem: when SNS drop this shit, act like wherever you was at when you first heard this shit when it came out,” he said. “Don’t go over the balcony but fucking go crazy. This has never been seen before. This shit right here is a NFT. Whatever a NFT is, when y’all do this song, it’s a NFT!”
The show was also notable since the trio's much-anticipated 3 Headed Monster Tour was canceled days before it was launched (this was Mase implied Diddy was behind the cancellation at the time). Either way, fans at the Apollo were treated to set that included Sheek Louch and Styles P joining Mase and Jadakiss on stage to deliver their verses to DMX's “N-ggaz Done Started Something.” Cam, Jada and Mase also performed their collaboration from late last year, “G.L.H.”
