The tragic death of Drakeo the Ruler seems to have sparked an important conversation about keeping the peace within the hip-hop community. Many artists came out to share their condolences and respects to the late rapper after the tragic events that transpired at the Once Upon a Time Festival in Los Angeles, including Drake, Tory Lanez, Snoop Dogg, and many more. 

Another rapper who’s spoken out about the aggression and danger within the rap world was Wiz Khalifa. The Pittsburgh emcee hopped on Twitter to share his thoughts on violence in the hip-hop community. 

“As entertainers let’s try some shit next year. Minding our own business,” Wiz shared online. “Not disrespecting each others family, dead homies, or area they come from. Stop using someone else’s significant other as a one up to the other person. Actually showing the same love you expect to get.” 

“Not sayın any of these are a direct cause of violence but changin em could help,” he continued. 

Wiz Khalifa’s mentor and fellow Drakeo’s fellow West Coast legend, Snoop Dogg, shared a similar sentiment to his Instagram account. 

“Last night I was in my dressing room when I was informed about the incident and chose to immediately leave the festival grounds. My prayers go out to everyone affected by the tragedy. Please take care, love one another and stay safe y’all. I’M PRAYING FOR PEACE IN HIP-HOP.”
