Tickets go on sale Friday, June 17 at 10 am ET. Burna Boy is set to headline as well, which the festival noted in a statement is a historic as the Nigerian singer’s “first-ever headlining festival performance at a U.S. music festival.” The Roots are coming off their well-received 2022 Roots Picnic in Philadelphia, which also made it's return to in-person after being sidelined for two years by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Black Thought stole the show at that festival, held at The Roots iconic frontman took the stage for the famed "Live Mixtape" showcase, and he was joined by Rick Ross and Benny The Butcher. While Rozay and Benny treated the crowd at Fairmont Park to their respective hits; it was Black Thought who took centerstage as he freestyled over some of their biggest songs, like "Jonny P's Caddy" and "Hustlin.'"
