Scarface: "A Lot of Dope Artists Aren't Getting Played Because They Don't Have Money"

Scarface was a guest recently on Bill Bellamy's Top Billin' podcast where he discussed the lack of airplay that talented artists receive on terrestrial radio.

"They got a lotta dope ass artists that's not gettin' their shit played because they don't have the money," the "Born Killer" MC explained.

Face also suggested that terrestrial radio was a thing of the past and that social media presence determines artists' worth in the eyes of the industry. "Not that terrestrial radio is a big deal right now because I think that it should be outlawed because it's so outdated," he said. "I know for a fact that it costs money to get on."

He then voices his frustration with the music industry. "You don't have to be dope no more. All you need is a bunch of Instagram made-up-ass followers," he said. "Just click the button. It's about likes and followers now and that's part of the reason that I don't fuck with it no more."

In August, Face performed his classic album The Fix at the Rock The Bells Festival. Currently, he's on his farewell tour which wraps in November.
