Writer, Curator, and Artist Sacha Jenkins Has Reportedly Died At 53

Details are few, but writer film maker, artist, and curator Sacha Jenkins has reportedly died at 53 years old. Jenkins, a Philadelphia native is the founder of Graphic Scenes & Xplicit Language, one of the first magazines dedicated to Graffiti art. Jenkins is also co-founder of Beat Down, a Hip Hop newspaper of which Elliot Wilson was once music editor.

 

 

Jenkins and Wilson later founded Ego Trip, a magazine which chronicled the Hip-Hop, skateboarding and Punk Rock cultures. Jenkins also released Ego Trip’s Book Of Rap Lists, and Ego Trip’s Big Book Of Racism. Television series such as The White Rapper Show and Miss Rap Supreme would follow.

 

Sacha Jenkins was a writer and producer of quite a few television projects including The Boondocks, and 50 Cent: The Origin Of Me. As a writer Jenkins wrote for Spin and Rolling Stone, and co-authored Eminem’s biography, The Way I Am.
