Roxanne Shanté and Salt Show Each Other Love On ROCK THE BELLS' 'Love Like This'

In the Valentine's Day Mix show hosted by Roxanne Shanté, Salt of Salt-N-Pepa, and DJ Bella Fiasco on ROCK THE BELLS Radio, Roxanne Shanté and Salt expressed admiration for each other and acknowledged the impact they have had on each other's careers. They praised each other for their continued inspiration.

The show, which was focused on love, allowed both legends to offer their insight about what it really means. Salt emphasized that love is not just limited to romantic relationships, but also includes love for friends, family, and life in general. She also told the Queensbridge battle MC what she means to Salt-N-Pepa and the impact she has had on their career.

Shanté and Salt-N-Pepa are actually ex-labelmates, both making their debuts on Philadelphia's Pop Art Records. Shanté debuted in 1984 with "Roxanne's Revenge," an answer record to UTFO's wildly popular "Roxanne, Roxanne." In the next year, Salt-N-Pepa answered Doug E. Fresh and Slick Rick's groundbreaking single "The Show" with "The Show Stoppa," under the name Super Nature. The burgeoning female MCs helped the mostly R&B label to enter into the growing rap industry, and the label eventually signed Steady B, The Almighty 3, Craig G, Marley Marl and the Glamour Girls.

Shanté recently supported Salt-N-Pepa on their recent Hollywood Walk of Fame induction, where they were joined by MC Lyte and Yo-Yo.
