Rolling Stone just ranked the Top 50 Greatest Concept albums, and Hip-Hop was represented three times within the list that also included albums by Marvin Gaye, Parliament, Frank Sinatra, Rush and The Who.
At #49 was 2011's Undun by the Roots which Rolling Stone describes as "the life story of a drug dealer told from death to birth" and "a Blaxploitation soundtrack for the modern era with some of The Roots most killer blends of Hip-Hop, R&B and live beats."
In fourth place was Raekwon's 1995 critically acclaimed debut, Only Built 4 Cuban Linx. The album is described as the story of "Two young hustlers on the streets of New York who decide to give up the criminal life- right after this one, last big score." The album is also compared to a "Hip-Hop Good Fellas."
