Rapsody has teamed up with the non-profit Reading With A Rapper (RWAR) to launch an eight-week "Rapsody Curriculum" for students at her former high school, Greene Central HS, in the fall of 2023.

Per WNCT, RWAR is a program that has socially conscious lyrics, video content, and technology that will relate to ELA academics and will also teach sentence structure, public speaking, and technology skills. The end of the program combines everything learned into a long-form essay.

The four-time Grammy-nominated rapper was on hand for the ribbon-cutting ceremony, which was presented by RWAR and Athletes Foot. Additionally, $10,000 was presented to the school for classroom renovation and the curriculum.

"So excited to go back home to Snow Hill, NC and celebrate homecoming with the announcement of a Rapsody curriculum by way of Reading With a Rapper!" Rapsody wrote on IG. "We can’t wait to unveil the renovated classroom at Greene Central High School! Principle Greene you get it! Thank you! See you fall 2023!"

Reading With A Rapper was previously launched in Houston in 2021, and founder Jarren Small and his partners are working to bring RWAR labs to classrooms across the nation.
