Prodigy to Be Honored With Queensbridge Street Sign Co-Named ‘Prodigy Way’

Four years after the death of rap legend and  Mobb Deep member Prodigy, the Queens emcee will be immortalized and honored with a street name in his native town of Queensbridge, New York. The corner of 12th Street and 41st Road in Queensbridge will receive the co-name “Prodigy Way” after final approval has gone through the City Council.

Prodigy grew up with Fellow Mobb Deep member Havok in Queensbridge, where the two went to High School of Arts & Design and started to collaborate on music together. The co-naming of the block was amplified by Prodigy’s family, Havoc, Big Twins, and his non-profit Fathers Alive in the Hood, which honors the life and influence of the rapper.

Havok recently sat down with Rock The Bells to promote his and Styles P, new collaboration project as Wreckage Manner. The two speak about their new album Nightmares 2 Dreams amongst other things, in the recent interview.

“Prodigy Way” is set to go up on 12th and 41st Road in Queensbridge at some point in 2022. Other street names approved in this same vote were Little Manila Ave, and one for Daniel Andrews, a former political spokesperson.

Stay tuned for more on this and other classic hip-hop news on Rock The Bells.
