Pendelum Ink is set to kick off its second annual Women's Month in August 2023.

All month long, the majority of its courses will either focus on women's contributions to Hip-Hop or will be led or co-taught by women, including Hip-Hop legends Rah Digga, Bahamadia, Shawnna, and Jaz The Rapper.

"Being in this business for 25+ years professionally and actually growing up in the culture, I am looking forward to passing on some of the knowledge that I have learned in hopes that aspiring artists from the next generation can learn something useful that will hopefully be as life-changing for them as this journey has been for me," Rah Digga said in a statement.

In addition, the month's "Criminology in Hip-Hop" course will examine the 2007 case surrounding Remy Ma. It'll be co-lead by attorney De’Von Douglass. On top of that, rap mentor, consultant and Rap Coalition founder Wendy Day will co-teach Pendulum's "Mickey Money Class" on networking.

The academy, which graduated its first class earlier this year, marked by a commencement speech from Bun B, is touted as the first school for Hip Hop lyricism. It was founded by Grammy-winning rapper/songwriter Mickey Factz and champion battle rap emcee Chilla Jones, and the academy's curriculum is "designed to provide students with a comprehensive education in Hip Hop lyricism, with a focus on writing, performing, and understanding the industry."

In a statement, Bahamadia emphasized the academy's importance. “I foresee Pendulum Ink as ultimately being the Khan Academy of authentic Hip-Hop lyricism," the legendary Philly rapper said.

In addition to the special women-focused and led courses, workshops, and events, all women will be eligible to enroll in Pendulum Ink Academy courses for half the original price throughout the month of August. Click here for more info.
