Nipsey Hussle Class Coming to Loyola Marymount University

A Nipsey Hussle class is coming to Loyola Marymount University's College of Business Administration where he once taught.

The news was announced on Wednesday (12/14) via his longtime business partner David Gross' IG page.

"Next month the TMC takeover of higher education begins with a class I'll be teaching," he wrote. "The class ['The Marathon Continues: Building Brand Through Culture'] will focus on Hussle's genius and authenticity in his approach to business and life."

Gross then explained that the University reached out to Nipsey in 2017 about teaching a class. "I gotta give flowers to Mitchell Hamilton, a tenured professor and head of the Marketing Department. He reached out and asked if we'd teach a class. He gave us carte blanche, with the caveat that we were authentic and didn't water anything down because we were in a university environment."

The course is scheduled to begin in January and will teach the methods and strategies that contributed to Nipsey's success, with a guest speaker weekly.

Hussle, who was murdered in front of his Marathon Clothing store in Southern Los Angeles in 2019, will also be the subject of an upcoming docuseries produced by LeBron James. “

It’s an incredible honor for SpringHill to have a part in sharing Nipsey’s story and legacy with the world,” James said in a statement. “He used his gift to give back to his community and lived what it means to inspire, empower, and uplift others along the way. His words, his ambition, and his actions stick with me to this day as he continues to inspire myself, our company, and people everywhere.” "The docuseries gives viewers exclusive access to Nipsey’s inner circle, never-before-seen archival footage, and interviews with more than 50 collaborators including Snoop Dogg, Kendrick Lamar, Diddy, and Nipsey’s longtime partner, Lauren London,” a press release states.
