The second episode of Monie In The Middle is now available to watch, and Monie reflects on how Roxanne Shanté "put the battery" in her back to start rapping, how she emerged as one of the most talented MCs in Hip-Hop with her debut.
"At 14, [I was] the B-girl, and then at 16 I got more into MCing," Monie recalls.
The series follows Monie and her two daughters, Cali and Layna, as they share their unique insights on love, life, fashion, and of course, music. In the second episode, Monie, who's also set to perform at the Rock The Bells Festival this August in Queens, discusses why finding your purpose is so important. She also touches on her heated conversation with Jeezy, which took place shortly after the release of Nas' controversial 2006 album title, Hip-Hop Is Dead.
Watch the second episode below. Monie In The Middle is available to watch on RockTheBellsTV on YouTube every Friday at 12 pm ET.
