As the saying goes: every rapper wants to be a ball player, and every ball player wants to be a rapper. While there are some notable examples of NBA players with quality bars — including Damian Lillard and Shaq — they're more the exception, than the rule.

Now, we can add another future Hall of Famer to the list of NBA greats who have at least tried their hand at trading the hardwood for the booth.

Lil Wayne has confirmed that Kevin Durant had a song that was in the running to appear on Wayne and 2 Chainz's recently released project, Welcome 2 ColleGrove. However, he ended up saving the song for consideration on Tha Carter VI.

What was supposed to be a surprise, became public, when Durant confirmed the existence of the song to Bleacher Report's, Taylor Rooks.

When Lil Wayne also appeared on Rooks' show, he had this to say: "Why would KD do that? That was on the wrap. See KD, you messed up,” Wayne said with a laugh. “Now that you done that I just wanted you to know you messed up and that song was considered to be on Tha Carter VI and now that you’ve said something, it’s not going on Carter VI.”
