Legendary M.C. KRS-ONE dropped his 24th studio album on February 22nd titled IMAMCRU12 in the same week that the 35th anniversary of his first album Criminal Minded debuted. The 14-song release has been doing well and currently holds the #2 position on the Top 40 US Hip Hop Album charts right under Kanye West’s College Dropout.

On February 2nd KRS dropped the official video for “Can You Dance”. The CGI heavy video is a dedication to Hip Hop dances of the past such as The Biz Dance, The Humpty Dance, The Wop and The Dougie (Doug Fresh even makes a cameo). The song and imagery are a bit different from what we usually get from KRS-ONE, but he keeps it fun and of course educational. It feels good to see an M.C. who hopped on the scene in 1986 still practicing the artform that they love, and doing it well.
