As expected, Dave Chappelle's opening monologue on SNL has been the subject of much conversation and commentary since he hosted the show on Nov. 12. Chappelle touched on all the current hot-button topics – Kanye West, Kyrie Irving, Trump, antisemitism, Russia and Ukraine, the mid-term elections, and Herschel Walker.
Ice T also appeared on the show, and said that he'd received threats of being "canceled" for making the appearance with Chappelle, after rumors that staffers at SNL boycotted his appearance. However, Chappelle's team shut that down.
"We’ve seen nothing to support media reports of a writer’s boycott. In fact, the writers delivered over 40 sketches for Dave’s consideration and collaboration," the comedian's rep shared. "Just as during Dave’s past ‘SNL’ appearances, you won’t want to miss it!”
Of course, Ice T has been around for decades and was wholly unbothered by threats of so-called cancellation, a feeling he expressed on Twitter.
"Somebody said they’re gonna CANCEL me after doing SNL with Dave Chappelle.. LOL! These MFs have been trying to Cancel me for over 30yrs!" he wrote.
