Legendary actor and recording artist Ice Cube was a guest recently on The Guest List podcast discussing his BIG 3 basketball league and highlights of his career as an actor, writer and recording artist. When the subject of the GOAT arose, Cube gave praises to Lil Wayne.

"Wow, It's hard to beat Lil Wayne. I think that he...his metaphors are other worldly," the "It Was A Good Day" rapper said. "Just an amazing talent. As far as lyrics and can make hits, has been copied. All these dudes are nothing but clones of Lil Wayne at the end of the day. Besides myself, I've done so much for the culture."

When asked about West Coast artists that interest him today Cube said he relies on his sons for info.

"I don't know, I don't keep up like that no more," he said. "My sons gotta let me know who's from where. Everybody is using that damn auto tunes and I don't know who's from where. Everyone sounds the same, I just aint' up on it like that. I'm an octopus right now, maybe I should care enough."

Cube will be performing at the Rock the Bells Festival hosted by Roxanne Shanté and DJ Scratch on Aug. 6 in Queens, NY. Hip-Hop legends including LL COOL J, Lil Kim, Fat Joe, E-40, Jadakiss, The Diplomats, Scarface, Rick Ross, Digable Planets, Remy Ma, are also slated to perform. Tickets for the ROCK THE BELLS FESTIVAL are available for purchase at www.rockthebells.com/festival.
