If you were wondering why Ice Cube didn't perform during Dr. Dre's set at the Super Bowl Half Time Show earlier this year, Cube says the answer is pretty simple: "Dude, when I do the Super Bowl, it's going to be Ice Cube."

The legendary rapper explained his thoughts on his longtime collaborator/friend's Emmy nominated show to PopCulture, and said that while he really enjoyed the show which featured Dr. Dre, Eminem, Snoop Dogg, 50 Cent, Mary J. Blige, Kendrick Lamar and Anderson.Paak on drums, he deserves his own set.

"I mean, it's going to be my show," he said. "So I enjoyed it, enjoyed the game. Good for the Rams to get one, bring one to Los Angeles. Because at first, only the Los Angeles Raiders had Super Bowl here. So now you got the Los Angeles Rams with one here. Salute."

With a career that spans decades, including 10 solo studio albums (five of which are at least platinum), soundtracks, singles, and two bonafide Hip-Hop classics (Amerikkka's Most Wanted and Death Certificate), Cube clearly is qualified to be a Super Bowl show-runner. In the meantime, you can catch him lighting up the stage at the Rock The Bells Festival taking place on Aug. 6.
