DMC recently sat down for an interview with AllHipHop's Chuck Creekmur where he mentioned the possibility of a Run-DMC biopic. DMC credits the groups 3-part Peacock documentary Kings From Queens as pivotal in initiating talks about the film.

Creekmur noted that DMC initially opposed the biopic, and he explained that his initial  resistance was before the completion of King From Queens. "I didn’t want to jump on a biopic bandwagon,” he said. “After the documentary airs, you could tell the story. There’s so many stories in the Run-DMC biopic though. So after this airs, what segment are you going to take out of this to do the biopic? You’re going to tell D meets Run and this and that. That’s impossible to tell. So a little teaser is maybe we’ll do a biopic focusing on the Raising Hell years. That will be very interesting.”

Kings From Queens debuted yesterday (1/2) on Peacock and includes appearances by Ice-T, LL COOL J, MC Lyte, Jermaine Dupri, Ice Cube, Questlove, Beastie Boys, Chuck D., Salt, Tom Morello, Doug E. Fresh, Big Daddy Kane, Ed Lover, and more. 

"This documentary series will reach, teach, and educate people on the Run-DMC dynamic,” said DMC, who is also executive producer. “I know people will see themselves in our journey, and I am hopeful that the next 50 years of Hip-Hop will be a movement of positive improvement and creativity, in the same way we changed music and the world.”
