The world was rocked by Hip-Hop legend, Coolio's untimely death last week (Sept. 28). Now, his seven children are memorializing their dad with a sweet gesture— a pendant that will hold his ashes. According to TMZ, each of his sons and daughters will get to pick customized inscriptions for their jewelry.
Recently, Coolio was celebrated by his peers at a show in Orlando. Flavor Flav, Rob Base, Young MC, Tone Loc and more showed love during a show at Impact 22.
"We all pulled together for a tribute to Coolio and performed his set of Rolling with My Homies, Fantastic Voyage, and Gangstas Paradise!!!" Flav posted on Instagram. "Thx u to Electronic Payments and BookingEntertainment.com for still graciously paying his fee to his family."
Since news of his death, tributes have poured in for Compton-raised rap legend.
"This is sad news," Ice Cube wrote on Twitter. "I witnessed firsthand this man’s grind to the top of the industry. Rest In Peace @Coolio."
Michelle Pfeiffer, who starred in Dangerous Minds where Coolio's single, "Gangsta's Paradise," was prominently featured, also shared her memories of the rapper. “Heartbroken to hear of the passing of the gifted artist @coolio," she wrote on Instagram. "A life cut entirely too short. 30 years later I still get chills when I hear the song. Sending love and light to his family.”
