LL COOL J, Ice Cube, Snoop Dogg and More Pay Tribute to Coolio

Tributes have poured in for rap legend Coolio following the announcement of his death yesterday (Sept. 28). The Grammy-winning rapper shot to fame with his mega-hits including 1994's "Fantastic Voyage" and 1995's "Gangsta's Paradise" which was prominently featured in the film Dangerous Minds.

"This is sad news," Ice Cube wrote on Twitter. "I witnessed first hand this man’s grind to the top of the industry. Rest In Peace @Coolio."

Michelle Pfeiffer, who starred in Dangerous Minds where Coolio's single, "Gangsta's Paradise" was prominently featured, also shared her memories of the rapper. “Heartbroken to hear of the passing of the gifted artist @coolio," she wrote on Instagram. "A life cut entirely too short. 30 years later I still get chills when I hear the song. Sending love and light to his family.”

Snoop Dogg offered a "RIP" along with a photo of the pair posing together, while MC Hammer remembered him as "one of the nicest dudes I've known."

“We are saddened by the loss of our dear friend and client, Coolio, who passed away this afternoon," Coolio's longtime manager Sheila Finegan shared in a statement. “Thank you to everyone worldwide who has listened to his music and to everyone who has been reaching out regarding his passing. Please have Coolio’s loved ones in your thoughts and prayers.”

According to a report by TMZ, Coolio suffered a cardiac arrest inside a bathroom at his friend's home. An official cause of death has not been determined.
