Black Thought and Danger Mouse are back with another visual ahead of their anticipated collaborative album, Cheat Codes. "Aquamarine," featuring UK singer/songwriter Michael Kiwanuka (the man behind the 2019 jam "Money" with Tom Misch), finds the pair getting up close and personal in front of a stark black-and-white backdrop, giving viewers a chance to really hone in on Thought's always above-average lyricism. He opens the verse in tip-top form.

"We go from Lira to Libra/From cold water to fever/To World War 3 from the treaty signed in Geneva/The biology teacher said we used to be amoebas/The neighborhood preacher said we emerged from the ether/We converge from urethra and struck gold, eurеka/The morning star Tariq, I was born to be a teachеr," he raps.

Kiwanuka said he was inspired when he heard the music for the song.

“For ‘Aquamarine,’ when I heard the music I just had a feeling to sing about standing up for something that’s unique and following that path,” Kiwanuka said in a statement. “I don’t know why but that’s what came out. Sometimes when you’re following something that’s unique to you it’s as if ‘enemies are all around.’ At times life can feel fragile like ‘everything’s burning down.’ For some reason the chords and music made me feel that way.”

Previously, Thought and Danger Mouse released "No Gold Teeth" and "Because" featuring Joey Bada$$, Russ and Dylan Cartlidge. Cheat Codes is slated for release on August 12. Check out the video above.
