The piece, titled "Hot, Cool & Vicious," is a blend of Dutch wax fabric, vinyl, wool, velvet, and glitter, and inspired by a legendary photograph taken by Janette Beckman in 1987. It is scheduled to be officially unveiled at Jeffrey Deitch's Goddess Both at Art Basel.

Formally trained, Butler graduated Cum Laude from Howard University with a Bachelor’s in Fine Art degree. She was a high school art teacher for 10 years in the Newark Public Schools and three years at Columbia High School in Maplewood, New Jersey. Most recently in 2022, she was awarded a Gordon Parks Foundation Fellowship.
