On Friday (January 14), AZ dropped the new collaboration track “Motorola Era,” with 2 Chainz and producer Statik Selektah. The new track sees the two emcees going back and forth on the horn-laden boom-bap-inspired production from Selektah.
“Salute to everyone anticipating the Doe Or Die II Deluxe, I feel the love and I won’t let you down,” AZ said in a statement. “This is true poetry from a true dart thrower. I’m setting off the Deluxe with a banger, ‘Motorola Era,’ featuring 2 Chainz and produced by Statik Selektah. It’s packed with lyrical braggadocious punchlines and designed to take you on a journey.”
AZ’s Doe or Die II made it on Rock the Bells’ 10 Best Albums list in 2021, taking the 6th spot on the list for AZ’s spirited performance on the album, proving he still is the impassioned storyteller we met in 1994.
AZ is set up to drop the deluxe version of Doe or Die II on Jan. 28. The original version of the album arrived on Sept. 10, 2021, and featured stellar guest performances from Lil Wayne, Rick Ross, Conway the Machine, and the Alchemist, among others.
