Following the 25th anniversary of the death of hip-hop icon Notorious B.I.G., this past Wednesday (March 9), fans and collaborators alike continue to remember the legacy of the all-time hip-hop great, celebrating his accomplishments and longevity despite his short career as a recording artist.

Fake Shore Drive’s Andrew Barber shared a Twitter post honoring Biggie’s undeniable talent and work ethic, reminding fans that the then 22-year-old wordsmith wrote a majority of Junior M.A.F.I.A.’s 1995 compilation album, Conspiracy.

“It still blows my mind that Biggie wrote most, if not all, of Junior MAFIA's ‘Conspiracy' album.

He wrote from the perspective of 10 different people on one album that included 15 songs. He basically wrote a movie. Incredible. #RIPBIG. 25 years ago today.”

In response, veteran music executive and A&R Dante Ross responded to Barber’s tweet, revealing he recorded reference tracks for each song on the album, claiming he still has the recordings in the vault.

“Not only that, he laid all the vocals he wrote for them. I have em. His version of Drugs is amazing,” Ross responded.

Bad Boy head honcho, Diddy honored his late friend and label signee with an Instagram post, remembering him as “the greatest rapper of all time,” as he posted a throwback video of Biggie spitting a freestyle.

“There will NEVER be another,” he wrote in the caption. “The GREATEST RAPPER OF ALL TIME. Today we celebrate and honor you, king. Love and miss you!!”

Rest in peace to an absolute hip-hop icon. Long live Biggie Smalls.
