French Soccer Star Pays Tribute to 2Pac While Collecting the Ballon d'Or

French soccer star Real Madrid and France forward Karim Benzema won the Ballon d'Or, and in the process paid tribute to 2Pac.

Specifically, his outfit was a nod to Pac's appearance at the 1996 American Music Awards in Los Angeles, just months before his death —a shawl-lapelled tuxedo styled with a white shirt decorated with a button-up, choker-like neck accessory, per GQ.

This isn't the first time the footballer has paid homage to the late rapper, as he can be found represented on his Instagram and Twitter profiles as well. In 2017 he told Highsnobiety that he grew up listening  to hip hop: “I must have been seven years old or eight years old. Yes, Tupac and all that."
