“Gucci always says 'It’s crazy how of a great businesswoman you are, and how successful you are.' People don’t know this. They get a glimpse of it, but they don’t really know how I run my business.” (THE CUT, 2018)
The Gucci you guys see today, that's the Gucci I met. That charming person," Keyshia told The Breakfast Club
“I embrace it all,” she told ESSENCE Now. “A lot of brands have come after me and clearly copied my entire thing, but I’m not upset. I’m a trendsetter. This is something I started and am still going strong and my business is huge right now. And I’m loving every bit of it.”
Ka'oir made that declaration in a 2018 interview with THE CUT; where she explained why she doesn't have to act out to get things done. Calm, cool, but always a boss.
“No one knew my name, no one knew who I was, but everyone wanted to be the girl with the mohawk and the blue lipstick..."
Their son Ice was born in 2020, and Keyshia and Gucci are now expecting their second child. With an Instagram video showing the rap star's reaction to a positive pregnancy test, Ka'oir captioned the post: “Let’s Have Another Baby Ice Needs Somebody To Play With."
"He gave me some money, and he came home to a lot more...I invested the money, I started some businesses. Everything I did I spoke to him about."
“I bought my house in cash so I don’t have a mortgage. I bought my car with cash. I buy my Birkin bags with cash. I don’t have credit cards. I don’t have partners. I like to write one check for ten million dollars, and done."
Since her marriage to Gucci, Ka'oir has had to endure all kinds of online gossip. "God damn," she vented to The Breakfast Club in 2017 after their wedding. "We were just your relationship goals yesterday, now we gettin' married today, all ya'll comin' for me with these abandoned children in Jamaica, and they Photoshopped four kids with Gucci in the middle! It was so bad."
"Gucci and I both have children. We do. It's a situation where, I am proud to be a mother, but at the same time, I need it to be private. I don't want the kids in the limelight. I don't want them on social media. I need them to go to school and just be children."
