Before anyone had ever conceived of the idea of a Hip-Hop "superproducer," there was Clifton "Jiggs" Chase. The in-house producer/arranger for Sugar Hill Records was already an accomplished organist and jazz arranger when Sylvia Robinson tapped him to become part of the musical brain trust at the iconic label.

From there, "Jiggs" would put his fingerprints all over classics from The Treacherous Three, The Sugarhill Gang, The Funky Four+One and, of course, Grandmaster Flash & The Furious Five.
