Tyler, the Creator To Receive Rock The Bells Cultural Influence Award at 2021 BET Hip-Hop Awards

On Thursday (September 30), BET and LL COOL J announced the new Rock The Bells Cultural Influence Award to be presented at the 2021 BET Hip-Hop Awards. The award honors the massive cultural impact of hip-hop artists and the power they have to transform mainstream popular culture. The award bridges that gap between classic hip-hop lovers and today’s rap trailblazers.

Rock the Bells founder and hip-hop legend LL COOL J will present the first Rock The Bells Cultural Influence Award to Los Angeles emcee and hip-hop trendsetter Tyler, the Creator for his innovative contributions to the culture with over a decade dedicated to hip-hop music.

“I am proud to honor Tyler, The Creator, with the first-ever Rock The Bells cultural influence award, which celebrates an artist who continues to break down the conventional boundaries of hip hop culture,” LL Cool J said in a statement.

The award aims to recognize “a younger, innovative, otherworldly artist that has significantly impacted the culture — while uplifting their community; something that Tyler, the Creator, dedicated his career to do.

The award ceremony airs Tuesday (October 5). Stay tuned for more news on Tyler, the Creator, and the 2021 BET Hip-Hop Awards.
