Frazier Othel Thompson III better known as Trae The Truth has been a solo recording artist and an affiliate of The Screwed Up Click as well as founding member of Guerilla Maab and ABN. In Houston Trae in known as “Hometown Hero.” His work as a philanthropist, activist and humanitarian rival his career in the music business. Providing relief during natural disasters like Winter Storm Uri and Hurricane Harvey, Trae rolled up his sleeves and helped rescue those in need and helped feed those who lost power.

Trae’s efforts by way of his nonprofit organizations Relief Gang and Angel By Nature earned him an annual Trae Day back in 2008 where he shares with the community by hosting celebrity sporting events and concerts, handing out school supplies and free ice cream.

 When racial tensions heat up Trae is on the fight lines marching with Black Lives Matter in Louisville Kentucky for Breonna Taylor and in Houston for George Floyd. When the Astroworld tragedy struck he joined a mass bike ride through downtown Houston to mourn the victims. His tireless community work led to him receiving the Billboard Change Maker Award in 2021, and in Houston he was recognized by President Joe Biden with the Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award for his community work. While receiving the award (which one has to put in more than 4000 hours of community service to receive), Tre said: “Coming from where I come from nothing is ever promised. I said that if I ever got in a position, I’d be there for those in need. Whether it be assisting the lil’ homies in music, assisting people who need relief or fighting on the frontlines for those who can’t fight for themselves.”
