Details about a first-of-its-kind NFT in partnership with the Christopher Wallace Estate, Sky’s the Limit: The Notorious B.I.G. NFT Collection, has been announced.

The crypto platform OneOf will host a generative profile picture (PFP) NFT collection that honors and celebrates the iconic rapper, emphasizing Biggie's cultural influence and status as one of the most acclaimed artists of our time. The collection features 3D NFT characters inspired by Big's life, style and lyrics.

“We are excited about our partnership with OneOf and their expertise to memorialize my son Christopher with this first official NFT drop to give his fans an opportunity to participate in and honor their love of him and his music,” Voletta Wallace, Biggie’s mother, said in a statement back in March when the project was first teased.

Additionally, it gives each NFT holder the right to collectively license the audio of that now-infamous Biggie freestyle, which was filmed on a Brooklyn street corner when he was just 17, marking the first time the freestyle has ever been officially released or made available for other musicians to sample and use in their own songs.

“We named this collection Sky’s the Limit because we believe this is a watershed moment in NFTs where seminal artists like Biggie and their truest fans can drive culture and drive value together,” said Joshua James, OneOf Co-Founder & COO, according to Complex. “We’re thrilled to work with The Christopher Wallace Estate to honor Biggie’s enduring legacy, in web3 and beyond, and we have some amazing surprises for NFT holders along the way.” 

The collection will be available at OneOf’s website starting July 26.
