In a May sit-down with All The Smoke, The Game told the story of the time that he had a freestyle session with Kanye West outside of a California party.

"So yeah me and 'Ye we end up freestyling, and my shit was all gangsta", The Game explained. "'Ye had the punchlines and he had the women [cheering him on}, so he beat me that night. Ever since then me and 'Ye been locked in. That's been my brother in Hip Hop. 'Ye did more for me in my career in the last two weeks than [Dr.] Dre did in my whole career."

The Game has been busy this year gearing up for his highly anticipated full-length album Drillmatic: Heart vs Mind which has an expected release date of August 12. The Hit-Boy produced album has been delayed a few times, and The Game delivered the single "Violence" recently to hold fans over.

According to The Game, Drillmatic will solidify him and Hit-Boy as rap’s next great rapper-producer combo, comparing themselves to legendary tag teams such as Nas and DJ Premier, JAY-Z, Just Blaze, DMX, and Swizz Beatz. “Nas & Premo, Swizz & X, Hov & Just Blaze, Game & Hit, after this album. #DRILLMATIC,” he declared on Instagram while sharing photos of him and the hitmaker hard at work in the studio.
