Styles P was a recent guest on My Expert Opinion where he declared that The LOX are responsible for modern east coast culture, specifically the mix tape as an outlet to "get put on."

"Dipset had an advantage on Verzus, not because they are from Harlem, but because of technology," the Yonkers native said. "The kids didn't know about Roc-A-Fella beef, G-Unit beef or mixtape LOX. Nigga, you wanna do a mixtape? We invented mixtapes! We invented new day East Coast culture."

An animated P showed more excitement with every uncredited accolade that he shared. "We gave you free bars that you didn't have to pay for, while we rhymed over other niggas beats that you think is nice to show you we don't give a fuck! Whether it's a [DJ] Clue tape, [DJ] Envy, Kay Slay (God bless the dead), Big Mike, or whoever."

P continued with his list of LOX firsts.

"We was outside before y'all was talkin' about bein' outside," he said. "Before it was a slang term. We invented no security and the mixtapes, have they ever given us that credit? No! We never asked for it, but we are here today. But who invented it? We opened the lane up for dudes to get millions of dollars who did that off of mixtapes? And you know why we did? Remember we was banned and blackballed. They never give us our credit. Who the fuck was wearin' white tees before us?"

Host Math Hoffa then confirms P's claims, stating that DJ Clue named The LOX, Roc-A-Fella, and Fabolous as the top producers of mixtapes. Check out the clip above.
