Part bar, part martial arts movie museum, totally RZA. The Alamo Drafthouse, a nine-screen, 893-seat theater, is set to open its doors on July 22 in Staten Island. The big draw for the theater is the Flying Guillotine, a bar and martial arts films museum, created in collaboration with the innovative rapper/producer.
“Bringing the coolest movie experience to ‘Shaolin,'" RZA said, “with a bar designed with the aesthetics of the Wu-Tang vibe – like Flying Guillotine – and an extensive collection of memorabilia, this location will surely be a place of many fun memories for Staten Islanders.”
Deadline reports that in addition to the Flying Guillotine, the theater will also include RZA’s Saturday Shaolin Theater — a weekly afternoon series “inspired by RZA’s personal martial arts favorites."
RZA also dropped the sleek, animated video for his latest release, "Under the Sun."
